Prohibition Signs

Prohibition signs convey to users the prohibition of certain behaviors.

Prohibition signs should be placed near the location where the prohibition starts, except for signs C11a, C11b, and C12, which may be placed at a convenient distance from the prohibition area.

	C1 - Forbidden Direction Indicates the prohibition of travel in the direction in which the sign is directed.
	C2 - Prohibited Traffic Indicates the prohibition of driving in both directions.
	C3a - Traffic Prohibited for Cars and Motorcycles with carriage/sidecar Indicates forbidden access to both light and heavy cars and motorcycles with carriage/sidecar.
	C3b - Heavy Vehicles Prohibited Indicates access is forbidden for heavy vehicles.
	C3c - Transit Prohibited for Goods Cars Indicates forbidden access to light and heavy goods vehicles.
	C3d - Transit Prohibited for Goods Vehicles Over Specified Weight Indicates access is prohibited for goods vehicles over the specified weight indicated on the sign.
	C3e - Traffic Prohibited for Motorcycles Indicates prohibited access for motorcycles.
	C3f - Traffic Prohibited for Mopeds Indicates prohibited access for mopeds and light quadricycles.
	C3g - Bicycle Traffic Prohibited Indicates prohibited access for bicycles.
	C3h - Traffic Prohibited for Agricultural Vehicles Indicates prohibited access for agricultural vehicles.
	C3i - Traffic Prohibited for Animal-drawn Vehicles Indicates prohibited access for animal-drawn vehicles.
	C3j - Wheelbarrows prohibited Indication of access forbidden to hand-held cars.
	C3l - No pedestrian traffic Indication of the prohibition of pedestrian traffic.
	C3m - Riders are not allowed to pass Indication of no riders.
	C3n - Vehicles with trailers are prohibited Indication of access prohibited to motor vehicles with trailers; This prohibition may be restricted to vehicles whose trailer has a total weight greater than that indicated, in white, on the symbol or on an additional panel.
	C3o - Vehicles with a trailer with two or more axles are prohibited Indication of access prohibited to motor vehicles with a trailer of two or more axles; This prohibition may be restricted to vehicles whose trailer has a total weight greater than that indicated, in white, on the symbol or on an additional panel.
	C3p - Vehicles carrying dangerous goods are prohibited Indication of access prohibited to vehicles transporting dangerous goods for which special signage is mandatory.
	C3q - Vehicles carrying easily flammable or explosive products are prohibited Indication of prohibited access to vehicles carrying easily flammable or explosive products; This prohibition may be restricted to vehicles carrying more than a certain quantity of those products, indicated on an additional panel.
	C3r - Transit prohibited to vehicles carrying products likely to pollute the waters Indication of prohibited access to vehicles carrying products likely to pollute the waters; This prohibition may be restricted to vehicles carrying more than a certain quantity of those products, indicated on an additional panel.
	C4a - Traffic prohibited to cars and motorcycles Indication of access forbidden to cars and motorcycles.
	C4b - Transit prohibited for goods vehicles and motor vehicles with trailers Indication of prohibited access to goods cars as well as motor vehicles with trailers.
	C4c - Traffic prohibited for cars, motorcycles and animal-drawn vehicles Indication of prohibited access to cars, motorcycles and animal-drawn vehicles.
	C4d - Transit prohibited for goods cars and animal-drawn vehicles Indication of prohibited access to all goods cars and animal-drawn vehicles.
	C4e - Pedestrians, animals and vehicles other than cars or motorcycles are prohibited Indication of access forbidden to pedestrians, animals, animal-drawn vehicles, bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles and tricycles with a cylinder capacity not exceeding 50 cm³, quadricycles, agricultural vehicles, tourist trains, as well as vehicles or groups of vehicles that are not capable of reaching a speed of more than 60 km/h or to which a maximum speed equal to or less than that value has been set.

	C8 - Transit prohibited to vehicles with a width greater than ... m Indication of access forbidden to vehicles whose width is greater than that indicated on the signal.
	C9 - Traffic prohibited to vehicles with a height greater than ... m Indication of access forbidden to vehicles whose total height is higher than that indicated on the signal.
	C10 - Prohibition of transit less than ... m of the previous vehicle Indication of the prohibition to travel at a distance from the preceding vehicle less than that indicated on the sign.
	C11a - No right turn Indication of the prohibition of turning right at the next intersection.
	C11b - No left turn Indication of the prohibition of turning left at the next intersection.
	C12 - Prohibition of reversing direction Indication of the prohibition to perform the reversing manoeuvre.
	C13 - Prohibition of exceeding the maximum speed of ... Km/h Indication of the prohibition of driving at a speed higher than that indicated on the signal.
	C14a - Prohibition of overtaking Indication that it is forbidden to overtake vehicles other than bicycles, two-wheeled mopeds or two-wheeled motorcycles without a sidecar. Note : This sign prohibits overtaking for All vehicles, however all vehicles may overtake if the vehicle in front is a two-wheeled vehicle without a sidecar. If the vehicle in front is a light vehicle, for example, and the person attempting to overtake is a motorcycle, overtaking is still prohibited.
	C14b - Overtaking prohibition for heavy vehicles Indication that overtaking is prohibited for all heavy cars.
	C14c - Prohibition of overtaking for motorcycles and mopeds Indication that overtaking is prohibited for motorcycles, mopeds, tricycles, quads and bicycles.
	C15 - No parking Indication of the permanent prohibition of parking any vehicles.
	C16 - Stopping and parking prohibited Indication of the permanent prohibition of stopping or parking any vehicles.
	C17 - Prohibition of audible signals Indication of the prohibition of the use of sound signals.
	C18 - Mandatory stop at customs Indication that the driver is obliged to stop at the approaching customs office.
	C19 - Other mandatory stops Indication of other mandatory stops whose reason appears in the inscription of the sign, namely 'toll' and 'access control';
	C20a - End of all prohibitions previously imposed by signalling to moving vehicles Indication of the place from which all prohibitions previously imposed by signs on drivers of vehicles in motion cease.

	C21 - End of stop or parking prohibited Indication of the place from which the prohibition imposed by signs C15 or C16 ends.
	C22 - End of the ban on sound signals Indication of the place from which the prohibition imposed by sign C17 ends.
