Variable Message Signals



Variable message signs are intended to inform the user of dangerous traffic conditions, as well as convey obligations, prohibitions, or useful indications to improve traffic flow and ensure driver safety.

Hazard, regulatory, and indication signs inscribed on variable message signs have the same meaning as those used alone. The requirements transmitted by variable message signaling are temporary, modifying the normal regime of road use.
